This is a very special wall for me because it has a piece of my family history. These cazuelas belonged to my great great grandmother, TataLola. It came as a great surprise and honor when my beloved grandmother Mamina offered them for decoration at Casazul. To this day, Mamina remains a fantastic cook, and I’ve looked up to her since I was young. She doesn’t easily share her recipes, but I’m privileged to have a few that have inspired part of the Casazul menu. Although I didn’t get to meet Tatalola, Mamina shares stories of her fabulous cooking and how her husband, TataPonton was a panzoncito with a fierce appetite. I come from a family of wonderful cooks -including my mother-who’s always been a great source of culinary inspiration.
